Rebecca Allen is the co-President of EMI Records (UK), headquartered in London, England.

She previously worked at Decca Records in various roles for over 20 years.

Allen graduated from the Trinity College of Music with a GTCL in 1995.


Rebecca Allen: Career history

Immediately after graduating from Trinity College of Music, Rebecca Allen took a job with the BBC where she worked with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Proms.

Keeping with her classical music roots, Allen moved to Universal Classics and Jazz in 1999 to become its Director of Media.

She remained in this position with Universal Classics and Jazz during its rebranding to Decca Records. In 2012, Allen was promoted to the role of General Manager at Decca Records.

Two years later, she became the company’s Managing Director. In 2017, she was again promoted, this time to the role of President.

During her time at Decca, Allen worked with such acts as Gregory Porter, Ludovico Einaudi, and Andrea Bocelli.

In 2020, Universal Music UK rebranded London-based Virgin EMI to EMI Records and named Allen as President.

Allen’s responsibility at the label is overseeing all operations and personally dealing with their music roster.

EMI’s roster includes the likes of Elton John, Paul McCartney, Justin Bieber, Metallica, Taylor Swift, and Queen.

In 2022, it was announced that Rebecca Allen would be joined by Jo Charrington as co-Presidents of EMI Records.Music Business Worldwide
