Ultra International Music Publishing and sister company Helix Records have appointed Vanessa Kanapin as Director of A&R for Germany, Switzerland & Austria (GSA).
Based in Berlin, Kanapin will report directly to company founder and CEO Patrick Moxey.
Her appointment is effective immediately.
The exec joins the company from German independent publisher Budde Music.
There, she held the title of A&R and Song Plugging Manager and was responsible for a number of signings including Glockenbach, Clock Clock and ÁSDÍS who, according to the announcement “have dominated the German airplay charts during the last 12 months”.
Ultra Publishing and Helix Records say that Kanapin will focus on signing artists and songwriters from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
She will work closely with the company’s existing roster in those territories to maximise commercial opportunities and collaborations via writing camps and co-writes.
Earlier in March 2023, Ultra Music Publishing announced a new collaboration with Los Angeles-based producer Diamond Pistols, to launch a new music publishing company called Hidden Gem.
In February, Ultra Publishing also announced the expansion of its music business into West Africa with the opening of a new creative hub, and the appointment of its London-based A&R Manager, Harold Serero to oversee operations.
