BandLab Technologies, the Singapore-based parent company of music making app BandLab , has announced what it calls an “organisational transformation” with the introduction of a new company brand, Caldecott Music Group (CMG).
Singapore-headquartered CMG will now oversee the long-term planning, investment, and development of three newly-formed divisions: BandLab Technologies, Vista Musical Instruments, and NME Networks.
CMG’s digital division, BandLab Technologies, will continue to design and develop tools and services for music creators.
The division will consist of the digital audio workstation Cakewalk, and the social music creation platform BandLab.
BandLab, the company says, hosts a user base of 40 million creators globally, and recently acquired artist services platform ReverbNation.
Vista Musical Instruments, CMG’s manufacturing and retail division, includes the instrument brands MONO, Harmony, Heritage Guitars, Teisco, and omni-channel, multi-brand retailer, Swee Lee.
Vista Musical Instruments, says CMG, will “combine decades of global supply chain knowledge and experience in the music industry, from product design and marketing to e-commerce and distribution.”
NME Networks, a newly formed media group announced earlier in November, brings together BandLab’s media titles.
This includes NME and Uncut, which were both acquired by BandLab Technologies in 2019, as well as Guitar.com and production and technology title MusicTech.
NME Networks also facilitates consumer events, such as Guitar.com Live and the NME Awards shows.
The formation of Caldecott Music Group, and its three divisions, enables the organization “to more effectively support growth and increase value for their people, partners, brands, and stakeholders,” it says.
The announcement also comes alongside a raft of new hires within Caldecott Music Group.
Ivan Chen has been named its Group Chief Operating Officer, Grace Chong as Group Chief Financial Officer, Krystle Hall as Group Chief Brand Officer, and Laurent Le Graverend as Group Chief Technology Officer.
“Now is the time to build on the foundation we have formed for over nearly a decade.”
