Warner Music has invested in Conrad Withey‘s Instrumental, the artist discovery and development startup focused on talent emerging on social media.
As well as taking a stake in the company, Warner will collaborate with Instrumental non-exclusively on a range of activities including A&R, artist development, YouTube channel management, release promotion, brand and content partnerships.
Additionally Warner will have first refusal on talent represented by Instrumental Artists – the company’s newly established management arm.
Max Lousada, Chairman and CEO of Warner Music UK (pictured), will join the board of Instrumental as a non-executive director, alongside current board members Bill Roedy (ex Chairman of MTV International), Stewart Easterbrook (ex CEO of Starcom EMEA) and tech entrepreneur Michael Tobin OBE.
London-based Instrumental focuses on rising music stars in the social space and provides support to talent signing up to its exclusive platform to develop their music careers and commercial potential.
“The multichannel network space is somewhere that fans and creators are connecting in rapidly growing numbers.”
