Kobalt‘s AWAL has promoted Matt Riley to Vice President, A&R.
Riley will be based in Kobalt’s London office and will oversee AWAL’s UK A&R team.
Previously Director of Creative at AWAL, Riley signed a number of notable independent artists to the company including Tom Misch, Bruno Major, The Wombats, VÉRITÉ, Joe Hertz, The Night Cafe, and Neneh Cherry.
He was recently nominated for an A&R Award at this year’s London-based event, which takes place on November 6.
Riley and his team work with artists across the full range of AWAL’s services, including both established acts and breaking new artists.
The team is responsible for overseeing the selection of artists and labels applying to join AWAL, while also identifying and developing emerging artists.
The UK A&R team also sign artists to label services deals with AWAL Recordings, while working closely with their counterparts in the US and internationally to support the global development of artists.
