Growing UK-based independent music company FutureKind has made its first A&R appointment in Josh Dalton as A&R Manager.
In his new role, Dalton will be working across both FutureKind Records and FutureKind Songs.
He joins after launching and running his own new music website Crack in the Road, which has built an influential voice as a tastemaker over the last seven years.
FutureKind – founded by former Dirty Hit exec Chuck Waite and lawyer Laurence Abrahams in 2016 – has formed strategic partnerships with Sony/ATV and First Access Entertainment.
The firm represents writers and producers through its global frontline JV with Guy Moot and Sony/ATV such as The 23rd (Sigrid, Astrid S, Alma), Tom Mann (Liam Payne, James TW, Pretty Much), Dan Bartlett (Little Mix, Feder) and Jamie Norton (Take That).
Earlier this year, the company received investment from First Access to help fund global expansion.
Discussing his new hire, Waite told MBW: “I’ve admired Josh’s wider industry perspective, and ability to hear great songs, for many years.
“Our industry is rife with conditioned thinking, but Josh has demonstrated time and time again an ability to look and act on things differently.”

“Both through our direct conversations, but also through him establishing and running for one of the most integral music blogs of the last decade, Crack In The Road.
“Our industry is rife with conditioned thinking, but Josh has demonstrated time and time again an ability to look and act on things differently.
“His outlook on music, and the entertainment world in general, pairs perfectly with FutureKind’s.
“I feel immensely lucky to have someone of his caliber and integrity, join our team.”
