Qobuz is a high-definition music streaming service headquartered in France.
Founded in 2007, Qobuz is available in 25 countries, including Europe, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, and Japan (for high-resolution download service only)
The platform has a catalog of over 100 million tracks, and claims to hold “the richest selection of high-resolution (Hi-Res) references on the market”. Qobuz is a licensed Hi-Res Audio provider by the Japan Audio Society (JAS).
In September 2020, Qobuz announced that it had raised €10 million to fund further expansion.
At the time, Denis Thébaud, Chairman and CEO of Qobuz, said: “We are very proud of our latest fundraising milestone of 10 million euros, which shows our historical shareholders’ confidence in our model.”
He added: “We are ready to step up our international presence to offer a unique offer to those who do not compromise on musical quality.”
The €10 million investment followed a previous raise of €12 million at the company in August 2019.Music Business Worldwide
