Jeff Castelaz has resigned as president of Warner Music Group‘s Elektra Records. He will leave the US-based label on Friday (September 18).
After Elektra, Castelaz will solely focus on his management company, Cast Management, beginning October 1.
In a press release, Castelaz stated his appreciation for the management of Atlantic Records’ Co-Chairman & CEO Craig Kallman and Co-Chairman & COO Julie Greenwald.
Castelaz said, “Running Elektra Records has been a dream come true. Being part of Atlantic Records Group, I’ve learned so much from Craig and Julie, and will forever count them as business mentors and friends.

“One of the lessons I’ve learned from them is to follow my heart – and in my heart, it’s clear to me that I can contribute most significantly by working directly with artists in a managerial role, which is why I’m choosing to focus solely on Cast.”
Castelaz oversaw the development of artists at Elektra including Fitz and the Tantrums and Saint Motel, as well as The Moth & The Flame, Anderson East, Kaleo and Royal Teeth.
During his career, he has worked with artists including Silversun Pickups, Fitz and The Tantrums, Dropkick Murphys, Sea Wolf, Eagles of Death Metal and Phoenix.
Castelaz co-founded and served as CEO of Dangerbird Records and Music Publishing from 2003 to 2012.
