US-based Tempo Music has reached an agreement with Danish producers/songwriters Stefan Forrest, Morten Ristorp and Morten Pilegaard to acquire what is calls a “significant percentage of their music publishing royalty rights”.
Best known for their work with Danish pop band Lukas Graham, who have enjoyed global success with hits such as Mama Said, Love Someone and the hit 7 Years, which topped the singles charts in many major music markets, Stefan Forrest, Morten Ristorp and Morten Pilegaard have all enjoyed successful production/songwriting careers.
The news follows Tempo Music’s acquisition last month of a majority stake in the master recordings and compositions of albums See You On The Other Side and Untitled by alternative metal band Korn.
As well as his contributions to Lukas Graham, Stefan Forrest is best known for his other work with Oliver Kesi & Patrick Dorgan.
Besides writing and producing for other artists, Forrest has also had success with his own artist project Future Animals.
Besides Lukas Graham, Morten Ristorp has co-written and produced hit singles for the likes of Julia Michaels, Kygo, One Republic, Little Mix and JoJo.
Los Angeles based Morten Pilegaard also worked closely with Patrick Dorgan, Kygo and Billy Raffoul and has numerous Gold and Platinum awards to his name.
Tempo, described as an investment platform for “premium music rights” is an affiliate of Providence Equity Partners, an asset manager with over $49 billion in aggregate capital commitments.
“Stefan, Morten and Morten are all globally admired producers and songwriters who have demonstrable track records of working with hugely successful artists both in their native Denmark and further afield.”
