Artist Partner Group (APG) has announced a string of promotions and new hires.
Brett Copell has been promoted to SVP for Legal & Business Affairs at Artist Partner Group after serving six years at the record label and music publishing company.
Copell has worked with APG founder and CEO Mike Caren and has played a key role in the relaunch of APG as a fully independent label, the company said in a statement on Wednesday (October 26).
Before joining APG, Copell spent over three years in Atlantic Records as Director of Business and Legal Affairs, according to his LinkedIn page.
In his new role, Copell will continue to serve as lead attorney for both APG and its publishing arm, Artist Publishing Group, while overseeing legal and administration departments at the companies.
He will also focus on new business opportunities for the company at large.
Additionally, APG ahs promoted marketing executive Alexis Warner to the role of Marketing Director. The promotion follows Warner’s efforts in driving digital marketing campaigns for emerging artists like Anti Da Menace, Cootie, and Solider Kidd, among others.
“As a passionate Digital Marketer, Alexis has been relentless in her partnership with artists in driving result-oriented content and modeling top tier social engagement. Alexis has been focused on advancing the company’s talented roster of artists and building a new legacy for Artist Partner Group,” the company said.
Warner joined APG in 2020 after serving nearly two years in record label SinceThe80s.
APG also made two new hires: Sebastien Christie as Sr. Director of A&R Administration and Jesse Wylde as Sr. Director, Artist & Business Development.
Christie joins APG from his own consultancy company called Spacecamp where he handled A&R, Administration, Publishing, and Sync for clients like Cinematic Music Group, Create, and Opposition/BBTV. At APG, Christie will prepare releases including clearing samples, producer agreements.
Wylde, meanwhile, will join APG as Sr. Director, Artist & Business Development after working at Web3 startup Rally.io where he oversaw and developed artists’ tokenized communities. Wylde also spent two years as marketing manager at AWAL, a London-based music distribution company owned by Sony Music Entertainment, and over three years at Warner Bros. Records where he worked as manager of Artist Development / Tour Marketing for two years.
“Jesse takes his expertise in new media, live entertainment, and brands to APG to develop their artists and songwriters in all facets of their career, focusing on promo and touring to larger business strategy and partnerships,” APG said.
Last month, Los Angeles-based manager Luke Mitzman (100 Management) and music entrepreneur Mike Caren (Artist Partner and Artist Publishing Group) entered into a partnership focusing on music producers and entrepreneurs.
