Music creation marketplace Splice, which claims to be used by over 4 million people, has hired Grammy-nominated producer Kehinde Hassan as its Director of Global Music Culture.
In this newly created role, Splice says Hassan will help to create new partnership opportunities with music companies, producers and brands.
Hassan will report to Splice’s Chief Music Officer Maria Egan and VP of A&R Jen Mozenter.
In February, Splice closed a $55 million round of Series D funding, led by Goldman Sachs’ GS Growth.
The company’s total raised now stands at over $155m, including a $57.5m Series C funding round in March 2019.
Bloomberg reports that Splice is now valued at nearly $500m.
As one-half of duo Christian Rich, which he founded with his twin brother Taiwo, Hassan earned a Grammy nomination for his work on Childish Gambino’s Because The Internet, and produced and worked on tracks for Drake (Pound Cake, featuring Jay Z), Earl Sweatshirt (Chum), J. Cole (Sparks Will Fly), Vince Staples (Big Fish) and Marshmello (You Can Cry, with Juicy J).
Christian Rich has also released several EPs and one full-length project, a joint single with Jaden Smith and has forthcoming tracks in the pipeline with artists like Snoh Aalegra, Channel Tres and DaVido.
