Liverpool-based label 3 Beat celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, and will commemorate the milestone with a headline set showcasing its catalogue at Liverpool International Music Festival, featuring Sigma, M-22, Anton Powers, Geko, Pezz, Nikki Belle and Rebecca Garton.
LIMF returns to Sefton Park in Liverpool on Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21, 2019.
The ‘3 Beat @ 30’ celebration, hosted by DJ Pezz, will headline Saturday. It will showcase the label’s biggest hits, with over 30 live musicians and special guests, including two-time BRIT nominees and platinum-selling Sigma, British-German DJ duo M-22 and Liverpool-born house producer Anton Powers.
New 3 Beat signing Sfven also features in the LIMF line-up, and the label will host an after-party at the festival with more performances from acts on its roster.
Founded in 1989, 3 Beat built its reputation initially in the dance genre. It released a range of successful anthems throughout the 90s, such as New Atlantic’s I Know in 1992 and Berri’s Sunshine After The Rain in 1995. By 2010 it had broadened its scope across a number of genres, working with artists such as Skepta, Sway and Fuse O.D.G, and secured its first UK No.1 in 2011 with Loca People by Sak Noel. More recently, it has brought modern day hitmakers to the market such as Sigma, Kungs, Martin Jensen and M-22.
Over its 30-year history, 3 Beat has earned more than 25 Top 10 UK singles. The label says its frontline roster generates more than 25 million streams every month.
In February 2018, 3 Beat renewed a joint venture agreement with Universal Music Group that has been in place since 2010.

LIMF Music Curator, Yaw Owusu, said: “We are very excited to be working with the passionate team at 3 Beat to celebrate their 30th birthday and salute their continued excellence exclusively as part of LIMF 2019. Not only are we planning a must-be-seen-to-be-believed live performance featuring some of their biggest songs and acts, arranged and composed by the incredible Katie Chatburn, but we will also be producing significant content that tells the story of 3 Beat. It’s going to be special!”
Jon Barlow said: “It’s great to be celebrating 3 Beat’s 30th birthday at LIMF, a key part of Liverpool’s thriving modern day music scene. From our humble beginnings as a record stall in Quiggins market place, 3 Beat has come a long way in the last three decades. As a label, we take real pride in the role 3 Beat has had across a number of genres, particularly dance, where we’ve released records that have become important touchpoints in people’s lives. We’re looking forward to showcasing our history at LIMF, and we’re really excited about the future.”
